Walter Melvin Thompson, 85, died on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at the Oklahoma Veterans Center in Claremore, Oklahoma. Mr. Thompson was born May 31, 1921 in Tulsa, Oklahoma the son of Fredrick James and Florence (McCleve) Thompson. He was a life insurance agent for 40 years with the Home State Life Insurance Company. During World War II he served his country in the U.S. Navy. He and his family are long times members of the Nogales Avenue Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughters: Vicki Grace and her husband David of Ketchum, OK and Terry Kerr of Tulsa, OK; his sons: Kirk Thompson of Tulsa, OK and Jim Thompson of South Lake Tahoe, CA; his Grandchildren: Mandy Wagstaff (husband Robin), Melissa Smith (husband Seth), David Thompson (wife Tracy), Jessica Thompson (husband Chase Pratt), Benjamin Kerr (Heather), Joshua Kerr, Joseph Rigney, Sean Thompson; Great Grandchildren: Alexander David Wagstaff, Finnegan Thompson, Taggert Thompson, Bryson Pratt, Brindley Pratt and Ashton Morgan Kerr. Graveside service with military honors will be Monday, December 18th, 2006th in the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery. A Memorial service will be Friday, January 26, 2007 in the Nogales Avenue Baptist Chuurch. The family requests that memorials be made to the Oklahoma Veterans Center, Claremore Division, P.O.
