Obituary of Marjorie Yust

Marjorie Nadine (Shklar) Yust, 88, was born December 7, 1918, in Hazelton, KS, the daughter of Karl and Florence (Burgess) Shklar. She died on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 in Houston, TX. She attended grade school in Kiowa, KS. The family moved to Tulsa, OK where she attended intermediate school and Tulsa Central High School. She returned to the family farm outside Kiowa, KS, where she graduated from high school in 1936. She attended Bethel College in the fall of 1936 on a debate scholarship. It was at Bethel where she met the love of her life, Fred Yust and they were married June 25, 1937. The Yust's moved to Tulsa in August of 1941. Marjorie worked at Will Rogers High School as the Office Manager and Registrar, retiring in 1980. The Yust's had three children: Karl and wife Laureen of Goodrich, Texas; Sheliah Hendrickson and husband Gary of Arlington, Texas and Gary Yust and wife Sharan of Edmond, Oklahoma; ten Grandchildren and nine great Grandchildren as well as numerous relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Elizabeth May and Anne Jenkinson; one brother, Robert Karl Shklar and her husband of 68 years, Fred, last June. Marjorie is survived by two sisters: Ethel Rollins of Duncan, OK and Rosalyn Fuller of Kingman, AZ. The family will receive friends from 6-8 on Thursday, December 28 at the Ninde Whisenhunt Chapel, 5757 S. Memorial Ave. Services will be 1:00 pm Friday, December 29th at the Immanuel Baptist Church, 1915 E 3rd Street. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
