Obituary of Lola Young

Lola Mae Young was born May 8, 1919 in West Plains, MO to Alfred & Nora Ellen (McKenzie) Harty and passed from this life on August 4, 2012 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 93. Lola Mae loved her family and extended that love throughout the community. She worked in the Braden Park Baptist Church nursery for over 25 years and is fondly remembered by children who have grown to adulthood. She was an avid bowler well into her 80's and was secretary for several leagues. She ran the canteen for Red Cross blood donors for many years. She loved to read, do needlework and crossword puzzlesall to sharpen her mind. Lola Mae is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cletus Young; and her brother, Russell Harden. She is survived by her daughters, Debi Robinson & Mark, Barbara Maxwell, Mary Martin, and Jeanie Brandon & John; her son, Dennis Young; her brother, Alva James "Jim" Harty; 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Lola Mae will lie in state Thursday from 10:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home and a funeral will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Braden Park Baptist Church. She will be laid to rest in the Bristow City Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Friday.
