Part 2 of 2 The fun BROTHER who deserved to have children of his own. When that wasn't to be, he passionately took on the role of UNCLE. He showered Jennifer and Kirsten with gifts and his time, giving our family some of the best memories we carry in our hearts. The BEST FRIEND BROTHER he became - the one to go to for advice and the best fan a sister could ask for when I needed an "atta girl". And when I was that BEST FRIEND SISTER because he wanted me to fix him up with one of my friends. Looking back on those nervous situations I now realize it was a compliment to me that he thought I had friends he wanted to get to know. The VERY IMPORTANT PERSON in Jennifer and Kirsten's lives. Giving them advice and gifts. Teaching them to drive, use a computer he had given them - too many things and wonderful times to mention here, but always saying the endearing "Kiddo" that was his alone. I THANK THE LORD and our cousin Dean that we were given this month of February to heal our relationships and express to each other all the things that showed him that WE KNOW HOW MUCH WE ALL LOVE EACH OTHER AND THAT HE MATTERED AND WILL BE CARRIED IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER.

PART 1 of 2 Things that Kent became that will never change: Son, Brother, Uncle and friend. He was so wonderful in all of those roles that that memory will forever be carried with us. We are bonded to him because of the gift of himself he gave so generously. Some of my memories as his SISTER: The rebellious teenaged BROTHER with the black leather jacket, greasy duck tail hair, and the switchblade knife. Never injured anyone seriously to my knowledge but loved that rebel look. The older BROTHER when he had to give up his first car to me - the "Cool Turquoise '52 Chevy" - when he went off to OSU. The BRAVE BROTHER when he enlisted in the Army. The SMART BROTHER when he came back so mature and finished his degree at TU and made our mother so very proud. The ROMANTIC BROTHER when he took his first wife Ann and started his committment to life in Tulsa. The RESPONSIBLE BROTHER who was always there for Mom and me when we needed a pillar to lean on or his handy work to fix something.

My cousin, Kent. I remember him as a teenager, a student at Edison High School -- riding his motorcycle, combing his hair in a duck tail -- equated him with Elvis at the time. I thought he was so cool -- and a little bad, just because he didn't fit the mold. I spoke with him recently and he said that he hadn't been on a motorcycle for 10 months -- I encouraged him to take one last ride as they had been his life for so long. Love you, Kent.

I am so sorry to hear of Kent's passing. Even though it's been many years since I've even been to Tulsa, I have so many fond memories of him, Barbara and Aunt Signe. My dad, especially, was so very fond of Kent and spoke often of what a fine man he was. You will miss him, I know, but we can be grateful that he has moved on to a better peaceful place.
