Please share a memory of Edith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Edith M. McCaslin,97 years young, loving mother and grandmother passed away on Saturday, March 10,2007. She was born in Shelburne, Indiana on July 12, 1909 to Elbert and Nora Langford. Edith will be remembered for love of family, her great sense of humor and quick wit. Her greatest joy were those times at family gatherings and everyone was laughing, telling family stories and sharing memories from her past. It's possible that Edith never realized how much joy she brought to people she met and got to know whether it was at her apartment building, visiting the doctors office, or just meeting someone standing in a shopping line. She always said hello and had a smile to share with people she'd meet. Edith moved to Oklahoma in 1923 where she met her loving husband, Bud McCaslin of 50 years. Together Bud & Edith raised five children. Edith stayed active with raising five children as a member of the PTA, den mother for the cub scouts, volunteered support of the local election board and was an active member of the Moose and Eagles Lodge . She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Bud McCaslin, two sons, Richard E. McCaslin and Alvin L. McCaslin, and one brother, Harold Melvin Langford. Edith is survived by her two sons, Vernon L. McCaslin and wife Lavetta, Larry G. McCaslin and wife Patty, and daughter, Shirley A. Stewart and husband Joe; twelve grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Her family and friends will remember Edith with great fondness, great love and respect. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family on Thursday, March 15, 2007, 7:00PM at Ninde Funeral Home, 5757 S. Memorial. Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 16, 2007, 2:00 PM at Ninde Funeral Home Chapel, 5757 S. Memorial.
