I knew your mother through the Vo-Tech system. I was in that system for 24 years and would get to see Connie 4-6 times each year. Even though we weren't close friends I would have been honored to call her friend. We always had big laughs at the conferences, as she was so easy to talk with and had such a marvelous sense of humor. Plus she had a hearty laugh not just a little chuckle of pleasantry. She would laugh whole heartedly and it was infectious. She and the Tulsa Tech Counselor were just a riot at HOSA Conf. trying to keep all their students on task and out of trouble. Before cell phones they had walkie talkies and were as much fun as Starskey and Hutch. I was truly saddened to learn of her death. I know you children loved your mother but I also want you to know that many, many people in our system thought the world of her too. She was also well respected as an educator and administrator. I know you miss her but I'm glad she's gettin' Heaven in a good mood, so we'll have some good laughs when we join her.

I am so sorry for your loss ...... Mrs. Ennis, as I knew her had an infectious smile and touched so many men and women's lives with her love of nursing. She was my instructor in the Tulsa Vo tech School of Practical Nursing in 1974-75....... She taught me so much and she encouraged me to further my education in nursing ...... She helped me in so many ways and I would not be where I am today if it was not for her believing in me ..... What a great loss, she planted the seed of service and giving in the field of nursing..... She will be loved and remember by so many .....

Dear Patti, Linda, and Michael - What wonderful memories I have of your mother. Living next door to you all on Pittsburg, playing Barbies, babysitting, etc. all these hold a warm memory in my heart, as does your Mom. I have lost track of you all as we all grew up and went our separate ways but please know my heart ached for you all when I read that your Mom had died. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

IF YOU HAVE NOTHING NICE TO SAY, "DON'T SAY IT"
"ALWAYS BE YOUR SELF." "WORK HARD" "EVERTHING WILL WORK ITSELF OUT"

Dear Patti, Linda, and Michael, I'm so sorry for your loss, and, of course a loss to the Ennis Family. What I loved about her was her constant sense of humor and laugh. Nothing seemed to phase her. I didn't see her as much as many of the other nieces/nephews and grandchildren, but she always had a smile on her face or a witty comment to make. I hope to see you all soon. Love, Jay Ennis

Dear Linda, Patti, and Michael, I am so sorry for your sadness in the passing of your sweet mom. My memories of Connie are from 40 years ago (!) when we were in elementary school...oh, the patience she had with our mischievousness! May God wrap his arms of comfort around each one of you!

What a lady! It was a great pleasure to work with Connie at Tulsa Tech. She was always smiling and I am sure she is still doing so in Heaven. She will be missed by many, but always loved and never forgotten. I pray for peace and comfort for her entire family.

A favorite story I have of my high school friend, Connie (Hood) Ennis. When we were seniors @ Will Rogers High, Class of '56, another classmate picked us up in her car to drive us to school.
Mariann Allen (deceased) would pick me up, then Connie. Usually we rode TO school with her, as we had extracurricular activities after school. We paid Mariann for her gas to drive by our homes - usually 50 cents to $1.00 a week depending on how much we rode with her~! Those were the days of LOW gas prices per gallon!
Connie was a bright, happy student, with a wonderful dimpled smile. After graduation, she & I went to a summer party.
As I am very fair skinned, and don't tan, Connie looked at my legs and asked, "Are you wearing white hose?" I guess she was thinking of entering St. John's School of Nursing & wearing all white, even then~
As a fellow Catholic, I am sorry I cannot attend the Memorial Service @ Madelene, yet I will remember Connie in my prayers.

Ms. Ennis was one of my instructors when I attended Tulsa Tech as a high-school senior in 1980-81, and I was fortunate to see her a few more times in the late '90s when I worked in TTC's IT department. Although I ultimately decided not to go into nursing, I've never forgotten her lessons, and they've been an enormous help to me professionally. Her love of nursing and her compassion for her students was unmatched. My thoughts go out to her family and friends.
