Michael Wayne Foster "Mikie" was born August 13, 1959 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Franklin Delano and Bernice Pauline (Huskey) Foster and passed from this life July 23, 2010 at the age of 50.
Mikie loved reading the Tulsa World, Louis L'Amour western books, and his all time favorite love, watching OSU football, college basketball games, and his NASCAR racing. Mikie treasured his buddies known as "The Grits." He had an intense passion for cooking, grilling outside, and trying new recipes as well as teaching his daughters and granddaughter the old recipes he loved. Above all he cherished his time with his families. His fervor for loving all life was marked in the four legged companions he took in, he never hurt any creatures. Mikie enjoyed playing games with his family and friends his trademark was the "Gotcha Game."
Mikie worked at Reese Trailer Repair for five years, Seven D's for 10 years, and Hobbs Trucking for over 10 years as shop manager and marketing sales.
Michael is survived by his wife, Stella Rose (Billy) Foster; his parents; his step-daughters, Shannon S. Brown and Lana N. Brown and her husband Michael; his sister, Linda Foster Frakes; his brother, Franklin Delano Foster, Jr.; his granddaughter, Tatum "Hot Rod" Steele; his niece, Kylie Frakes; his nephews, Ryan Frakes, Jason Foster and Josh Foster; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Michael will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday with family visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and a funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2010all at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home Chapel. He will be laid to rest following the service at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the American Heart Association, 2227 E. Skelly Drive, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74105.
