Wayne DeVan Sharbrough, Jr., age 76, of Tulsa passed away Monday, July 26, 2010. DeVan was born in Laurel, MS to Wayne DeVan and Thera (Hutchison) Sharbrough on June 7, 1934. He was a Tulsa attorney and businessman. He was a Lt. Commander in the U.S. Navy and a past Commander of the U.S. Naval Reserve in McAlester, OK. DeVan was a life member and former District Commander of the U.S. Power Squadrons, and belonged to several other organizations including Tulsa Midtown Rotary Club and the ABA. He is survived by his wife, MaryAnn Beene-Sharbrough of Tulsa; daughter Christine Sharbrough Fuller; son DeVan Sharbrough, III; step-children Joe, Jeff and Jonathan Beene; Dan and Wesley Crafts and Anna York; sister Joanne Sharbrough Neff; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; mother of his children, Elsie Sharbrough; and cousins John Arnette and Marge Fitzsimmons. A internment service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 30 at All Saints Episcopal Church in McAlester. A celebration of DeVan's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 31 at Five Oaks Lodge in Jenks, under the direction of Ninde Brookside Chapel of Tulsa.
