Obituary of Desiree McKenzie

Desiree Ira McKenzie was born February 27, 1933 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma the only child of Fred and Juliette Gamble. Our Lord and Savior called her home on Monday, September 13th, 2010 at the age of 77. She worked at Lowrance Electronics, for Dr. Minnick, Chiropractor and many years as a homemaker. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and Grandmother. She was also a very trusting and loyal friend to many. She had a beautiful sweet smile that just made you happy. She married Dale Lee McKenzie, Sr. on May 11, 1957 and he preceded her in death on November 21, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Survivors: her children, Dale McKenzie, Jr. and his wife Patricia, daughter, Michelle Stenslie and her husband Aaron; grandchildren: Kelly McKenzie and his wife Carole, Evan Woodruff, Ryan Stenslie and Matthew Stenslie as well as numerous nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Kay Ann McKEnzie. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals-on-Wheels, 12620 E. 31st Street Tulsa, Oklahoma 74146. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home. Service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday in the Rose Chapel of Boston Avenue United Methodist Church.
