Randall Lee Grundy was born March 11, 1951 in New Bedford, MA the son of Harry and Martha (Winterbottom) Grundy. Randy lost his nineteen month battle with melanoma at his home on Monday September 27, 2010 at the age of 59. Randy was a campaign staff manager for the Tulsa Area United Way and had previously worked as an investment manager for Arvest Bank and A.G. Edwards He also worked for the Mazzio's Corporation and once owned Mazzio's restaurants in Bentonvile and Rogers, AR. He was active in the community and previously served as President of the Bentonville Chamber of Commerce, President of the Bentonville School Board, and President of the Benton County United Way. He was an avid runner and participated in over twenty marathons, including the Boston Marathon six times. He married Dawn Camille Symons on September 11, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Dawn and their daughter Caroline Hailey; his son, Harrison Randall Grundy of Tulsa; his daughter Bethany (Grundy) Hunt of Springdale, her husband David, and his grandsons,Toshiro and Ethan; his sister, Debbie Dolan of Baltimore, MD; and his father, Harry Grundy of Baltimore, MD. A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 2nd in the Ninde Brookside Chapel, 3841 S. Peoria, Tulsa, OK. The family requests that memorials be made to your local area United Way or the Melanoma Research Foundation, 1411 K Street, NW Suite 500, Washington, DC 20005.
