Obituary of Martha Marsh
Please share a memory of Martha to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Our beloved Marty entered this world on March 22, 1935 and she passed from this life on November 15, 2010. She was born to her loving parents, Earl and Allabelle Johnson in Oklahoma City. While Marty was still in her infancy, the family moved to Tulsa, and she always considered herself a native Tulsan. After attending Lanier Elementary, Wilson Junior High, and Will Rogers High School, she attended the University of Oklahoma and joined Delta Delta Delta Sorority and met Phil Marsh. During their 53 year marriage, Phil and Marty lived in Norman, Oklahoma; Midland Texas, Anchorage Alaska; Denver, Colorado and Ft. Worth, Texas. For the last 36 years, they have lived in Tulsa.
She was a devoted and active member of the First United Methodist Church in Tulsa. In addition to her husband, Phil, older brother, Earl Johnson, cousin, Suzanne Everage and her husband, Gordon, all of Tulsa, she is survived by son, Carter, and wife, Christine, son, Paul, and his wife, Wynne, all of Tulsa, daughter Susan and her husband, Jasen Agee of Pauls Valley; and by seven grandchildren: Margo Marsh, Garrison Marsh, Jackson Marsh and Benjamin Marsh, all of Tulsa; Elaine Agee, Meredith Agee, and Victoria Agee, all of Pauls Valley.
The greatest joy in Marty's life came from her natural habit of opening her loving, servant's heart to all the people in her life. This love began with her husband, Phil, and radiated to encompass her children and her childrens' friends and all those she loved through her involvement with the youth at First Methodist Church. To her delight, she was blessed with seven grandchildren who have had the good fortune to be bestowed with a full blown, highly developed, maximum strength dose of "Grandmommie" love.
Marty will be greatly missed and never forgotten by all those who love her.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00p.m. Wednesday November 17, at Ninde Funeral Home, and after the worship service at their home.
Interment will be at Rose Hill Memorial Park at Thursday on November 18, at 10:30 a.m. A worship service at First United Methodist Church at 12:00 noon on Thursday November 18.
