Obituary of Delilah Ratterree

Delilah Christine (Whitney) Ratterree was born February 28, 1929 in Clantonville, Arkansas to Scott Fay and Ada Mahala (Clanton) Whitney and passed from this life November 27, 2010 at the age of 81.
After graduating in 1946 from Seligman, Missouri High School, Christine entered the work force with Jones & Laughlin Supply in Tulsa. An Oklahoman since 1950 she continued her work in downtown Tulsa for the Bank of Oklahoma as a bank wire and telex operator, retiring after almost twenty years of employment. In addition to raising her family and pursuing her career, Christine busied herself with the music ministry and women's ministries at her church, South Lakewood Baptist Church. She loved to sew, read, garden, work crossword puzzles, take walks, play the piano and trumpet as well as sing in the choir.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William E. Ratterree; her sister, Nadine Turner; her brothers, Harold Whitney and Howard Whitney; Christine is survived by her daughters, Patricia Tatterson and Rhonda Wyble; her five grandchildren, Melissa, Michael, Melinda, Jennifer and Nathan and six great grandchildren; her step-sons, William Ratterree and Brent Ratterree; step-daughter, Elizabeth Smith, eight step-grandchildren and numerous step-greatchildren.
Christine will lie in state 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday with the family receiving friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home. A funeral will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at South Lakewood Baptist Church and Christine will be laid to rest at the Fairview Cemetery, Owasso, Oklahoma.
