Our prayers to the entire Young family. Carl was a wonderful neighbor. We will miss seeing him on his early morning walks with the dogs. He was always smiling and friendly. Dear Karen, Heidi, and Matthew--I am so very sad that Carl has died. I really enjoyed meeting your family this summer when you kids were here for the Opera Childrens' Chorus. You were all so wonderful and kind to Ava--she really treasures your friendship Heidi. Carl was the best volunteer for the OCC--he was always so positive and friendly to all of us. I will really miss him--life is so capricious--impossible to figure out really. I'm glad that I got to know Carl and all of you. Sincerely, Roxie J. Karen, Just this July Kiki and I enjoyed meeting you and Carl as Kiki participated in the Crested Butte Music Festival. Wrangling hours and performance intermissions lead to fun times learning more about you both. We are privileged to have known Carl and will keep his contagious spirit in our hearts. Karen, we are stunned and beyond sad for the loss of Carl and offer our love to you and all of Carl's family. John Anderson's daughter Erin wrote me the following when she heard the news. I think her sentiments express how I feel: "My heart breaks to hear that Carl has passed. While I was only lucky enough to meet him a few times, his love, laughter and humor left a forever lasting impression. The light that was brought to everyone's eyes when they talked about him, told stories or tried to retell/show one of his many jokes or tricks, never went unnoticed. He touched everyone's life regardless of how often or how well one knew him. I am saddened to hear such a great man has left us, but I am happy that y'all, including my father, were blessed to have such an amazing person in their lives." This, from Erin Anderson, expresses just how I felt about Carl. Now, who will help me do my Apple book!
