During his career Murray worked for several successful oil and gas exploration companies before co-founding Southport Exploration. One of his proudest moments was being appointed to the University of Oklahoma Board Of Regents. He served as Chairman from 1992 to 1995 and was Chairman when David Boren was selected President. Murray loved serving and giving back to the University and especially enjoyed Saturday afternoons in the fall at Owen Field.
