Obituary of Rosalea Anderson

Rosalea Kathryn Anderson was born on September 29, 1927 to Alyce Angeline and Robert Edward Beitz, the oldest of three children. She grew up in Tulsa, graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1945, and then, attended Mississippi University for one year before returning to Tulsa and going to work in the clerical position at Amoco Petroleum. At Amoco, she met and married Arlie Matlock, Jr. in 1947. Within a few years, they transferred to Oklahoma City. Together, they had two children, Keith and Susan Matlock and the family moved back to Tulsa in 1965 where Arlie continued to work for
Amoco and Rosalea worked at Amoco Research Center. Although their marriage ended amicably after 23 years, they remained very close friends until Arlie's death in 2005. In 1972, Rosalea married Wayne "Andy" Anderson, whom she worked with at the Research Center. She was widowed in late 1973. Rosalea retired from Amoco in the late 1980's, but continued to work at various jobs including 2 insurance companies, a real estate firm, a credit union, and finally at AARP as a placement specialist before ending her working career at age 76.
Rosalea was devoutly committed to her family and actively provided and participated in their care and nurturing, beginning with her sister and brother and continuing to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Rosalea was preceded in death by both parents, her husband Wanye "Andy" Anderson, a brother, Bert Charles Croft a niece Stacy Aydelotte and a great granddaughter, Arabell Kathryn Hamilton.
She is survived by her sister and best friend, Jan Aydelotte and Jan's husband, Jack Aydelotte of Carrolton, Texas, her son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Annette Matlock of Anchorage, Alaska, her daughter, Susan White of Tulsa, step-daughter, Leslie Gayle of Tulsa, 3 grandchildren, Keith Matlock, Jr., and his wife Tracy, Kelly Hamilton and her husband Danny, and Trey White all of Tulsa, 5 great grandsons, Mikaleb White, Preston Priddy, Hagen Matlock, Locklin Matlock, Keldan Hamilton and one great granddaughter, Breanna Hamilton, all of Tulsa, 2 nieces, Leslie Aydotlotte Rounds and Suzanne Hagen and nephew John Croft.
