John Scott Thompson was born June 10, 1953 in Poteau, OK. He passed from this life in Tulsa, OK on March 31, 2011 at the age of 57.
Scott was in the Navy and served in the Vietnam War. He worked for the Oklahoma State Employment Securities Commission as a Field Agent. Scott loved his work. He loved the fact that he was helping people and the friends he made. Scott's family was the most important thing to him. He loved playing chess with his older son Chris and loved playing basketball and football with his younger son Ricky. He and his wife, Kim, loved to go on drives in the country and just talk. He also loved family get-togethers to see how everyone was and what was going on with them. He loved calling his mother and just talking to her about whatever was on their minds at the time. He also loved talking to his dad about computers; they could talk for hours on the subject. Scott will be missed by all who knew him, he was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin. He will see us again someday.
Scott is survived by his wife, Kimberly Dawn Thompson; his sons, Christopher Scott Thompson and Richard McConnell Thompson; his parents, Gene and Connie Thompson; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Kevin and Marlene, and Brian and Diane Thompson and his sister and brother-in-law, Suzanne and Ed Stanton.
