My memory is Ruidoso at the Rices' cabin and the Arrington, Lynch and Gurley families included, spent time together...skiing, playing dominoes and making memories. As Betty said...he had a smile from ear to ear. My mom said that my Dad (Charley), was there in heaven to meet him and was now thrilled to have a domino partner. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Gurley family.
Love,
Amy

The first time I ever saw Dan Gurley it was "puppy love" at first site. I was 5 and he was 6, we were in the first grade at Morningside Elem. I realize now all the girls were just like me...mesmerized by those twinkling eyes, curly blond hair and sweet sweet smile. He was nice to everyone and that was rare in a boy so it made him even more likable. Now my heart is sad, especially for his precious family. I pray God's loving arms give you strength and your friends the joy of remebrance of this fine man. As for me, I look forward to meeting Dan again someday...afterall, you never forget your first love.

My heart aches for the Gurley family at this very sad time... Please know that I will be praying for Gods loving hands to carry and comfort each one of you in all of the days ahead. We look forward to the reunion that Jesus tells us we can all count on in heaven, a place without tears, sorrow, sickness or pain. love, Amy

Dan was a great man and friend. Back 12 years ago during a difficult time in my life he took time out to call me and to even come to Griffin to visit just to give me support. He was truly a caring person that I will never forget.

Dan was listed as a 2 year Football letterman and a Senior in a 1960 program. I was privileged to be his team mate for 4 years. He was a genuine good guy who probably didn't have an enemy in the world. I'll always remember his slashing runs and great smile. It was good to see and visit with him last fall at the DeWitt Weaver Reunion. May he rest in peace! May the family fell comforted in knowing he is with the Lord!

How I shall miss this wonderful man...his smile that went from ear to ear and those twinkling eyes. I'm blest to have had this man as my friend. He touched many people's lives during his time here on earth. I shall miss him dearly, but I know he's well and waiting to one day greet me at the pearly gates. My condolences to his sweet wife and family who have surrounded him with love until the end. May God cover you in peace. My love and prayers. Betty
