Charles Samuel (Charlie) Lamson, 77 of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away July 18, 2011 at Grace Living Center in Jenks, OK after an extended illness. He was born November 28, 1933 in Swedesboro, NJ and graduated from Paulsboro (NJ) High School in 1951. He enlisted in the Air Force and served during the Korean War in Morocco and Italy. He married his wife of 52 years, the late Betty Thiemich Lamson in 1955. He worked at Monsanto Company in Bridgeport, NJ from 1961 until his retirement in 1992. He and Betty lived in Florida until her death in October of 2007. He then moved to Tulsa to be closer to his son Chuck and his family. He was also preceded in death by his parents Howard Charles Lamson and Grace Black Lamson and sister, Elaine Whitelam. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Charles Kevin (Chuck) and Leigh Lamson, of Tulsa; brothers and sisters-in-law, Willard and Jean Lamson, of White Haven, PA and Paul and Shirley Lamson, of Gibbstown, NJ and sister, Dorothy Sheets (the late Allan) of Pennsauken, NJ. He is also survived by grandchildren Drew and Nikki Lamson, of Tulsa, OK. Charlie was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Florence Lodge in Woodbury, NJ. Following his expressed wishes for simplicity, there will be no service or memorial. A private cremation was his desire. His and Betty's ashes will be scattered by the family on a beach in Avalon, NJ, the site of many happy family vacations. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made in Charlie's memory to Faith Bible Church, PO Box 163, Thorofare, NJ 08086 or to the American Diabetes Association.
