Obituary of Charles Green
Please share a memory of Charles to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Charles Russell Green was born in Benton, AR on December 19, 1946 to Harold Edwin Green and Emma Geraldine Green, who preceded him in death. Charlie passed from this life at the age of 65 on September 12, 2012 after a long illness. He graduated from Benton High School and the University of Arkansas in Little Rock before serving in the Army Special Forces during the Vietnam War. Charlie worked in the insurance industry. Before he retired he managed the W. G. Green Agency in Tulsa. He was a Jenks School volunteer, Camp Fire Volunteer and Dad, serving several years on the Camping Committee. He was responsible for getting the song benches at Camp Waluhili as well as many other improvements to the camp. Charlie was a youth group leader for two years at The First Christian Church in Jenks. He was an avid trout fisherman, reader, college football fan, especially for The Arkansas Razorbacks. He never met a dog he didn't like except maybe toy poodles. No matter what he did to repel them, cats found him irresistible. Charlie was a truly unique individual and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Wadonna and the light-of-his-life, daughter, Ashley Green-Diedrich. Special people in his life were his mother-in-law, Ona Mae Loftis, of Maysville, OK; his former son-in-law, Michael Diedrich; and his cousin, J. R. Curtis and his wife, Linda, of Hensley, AR. He also leaves behind, his grand-dog, Cash, Zooey and Lokey, his constant companions. Charlie had special wishes for the family at the end of his life rather than a funeral service.
