Obituary of Sibyl Edmondson

Sibyl Ann Edmondson was born in Conway, Arkansas on January 14, 1926 to Byron and Coy (Hays) Thompson. She passed from this life at St. John's Medical Center on November 14, 2011 surrounded by her husband of 63 years, Justus; their two daughters, Carolyn Buso and Nancy Alston. She is also survived by a grandson, Seth Buso and two great granddaughters, Sylvia and Audrey Buso; by a sister-in-law, Dennis Thompson and a brother-in-law, J.D. McGee. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her son, Mark; a brother, John Thompson; two sisters, Retha McGee and Kaye Bracken and a brother-in-law, Dr. Ronald Bracken.
She graduated from North Little Rock High School and went on to graduate from the University of Arkansas with a degree in education. Upon graduating she married, became a homemaker and wonderful partner in ministry with her husband, Reverend Justus Edmondson, who served a number of churches in Oklahoma.
Sibyl was a loyal member of Boston Avenue United Methodist Church, the New Covenant Class, and United Methodist Women. She had been an active member and officer of Church Women United and she was a member of the American Guild of Organists. She enjoyed her family and many friends. She left a marvelous legacy.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Boston Avenue United Methodist Church; private family committal, Memorial Park Cemetery.
