Obituary of Charles T. Johnson

Charles T. Johnson was born at home on September 16, 1920 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Edwin C. Johnson and Estelle T. (Brown) Johnson. Charles passed from this life at his home in Tulsa, OK on Monday, May 26, 2014 at the age of 93.
Charles grew up in Tulsa, Ok and graduated from Central High School in 1938. After graduation he went on to study Petroleum Engineering at the University of Tulsa. On November 6, 1942 he married Wilhelmien Dawson. His studies were interrupted by World War II when he enlisted in the Army Air Corp in 1942. He was a Cadet at Yale University in New Haven, CN. Upon graduation he became an instructor of Cadets at Yale.
During World War II he served in diverse locations including the Pacific Theater. After the war he continued his studies and graduated from University of Oklahoma. With the advent of the Korean war His Air National Guard Unit was activated and Charles decided to make a career of the Air Force. He served 33 years active duty including a tour in Vietnam before retiring in 1975.
He retired from the Air Force as a Lt. Colonel and settled in Tulsa with his wife. He loved Tulsa and serving his community through his church.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin C. Johnson, Jr., his parents and his wife of 61 years, Wilhelmien.
He is survived by a son, Gerald J. and Mary Johnson and a daughter, Peggy Lynn and Kenton Falk and one grandchild, Ruth L. Johnson.
