Obituary of Keith Gibson Jones
Please share a memory of Keith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Keith Gibson Jones was born April 8, 1952 in Tulsa, OK to Robert & Helen (Gibson) Jones, Sr. and passed from this life on June 28, 2014 at the age of 62.
Keith was a beloved friend, brother, father and grandfather. He was a lover of music, dancing, animals, antiques and horse racing to name just a few. He served in the US Air Force, and attended Oklahoma University where he received a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Drama. Following school he pursued his passion for theater by working with Theater Tulsa doing lighting design. He went on to be the Assistant Stage Manager at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. Keith also spent some time working with Tulsa Junior College visiting local elementary schools and teaching children about the Arts as a career choice.
As time passed Keith switched careers to sales. He worked for many years at Advertising Novelties, Inc. During this time he was also an avid antique dealer. He first started working in the medical field by working with Visiting Nurses Association. He kept the nurses supplied with everything they needed to run a successful flu vaccine campaign every year. Eventually he moved on to be the Property Manager at a shopping center located on 51st & Harvard. Finally in his later years Keith would sit with hospice patients in their last hours of life to care for them as well as cancer patients following procedures required for them.
Keith was a loyal person who kept friends for a lifetime. He was always there to lend a hand in times of need. He could always be counted on to give you his honest opinion and always had a story to tell you. His sense of humor was a delight to all who were exposed to it. He will be sadly missed forevermore.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his daughter, Laura Phillips and husband Michael; his brothers, Robert Jones and his wife, Holly and Joel Martin Jones; and his grandson Michael Alexander Phillips.
