Ronald Joe Neafus was born October 7, 1949 in Tulsa, OK to W. H. & Betty D. (Potter) Neafus, Jr. and passed from this life October 19, 2014 at the age of 65.
A Graduate of East Central High School in Tulsa, he went on to attend Oklahoma State University in Stillwater where he received two Bachelor’s Degrees majoring in secondary education and in geology. Afterwards he went on to receive a Master’s degree majoring in hydrogeology.
In the 70’s he started as a graduate assistant hydrogeologist at U.S.D.A. – S.E.A. and Oklahoma State University. He then moved on to work as a geologist for R & J Systems Inc. also in Stillwater. He then moved to Tulsa where he was a hydrogeologist for POE Environmental Technology & Resources Associates Inc. and then as Vice-President & hydrologist/hydrogeologist at Mintech, Inc. (Mining & Mineral Technology) in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Ron loved the water and spending time with his friends and family at Grand Lake where he loved to boat and to ski. Most of all, he loved his family and friends and adored his pets. He kept long time relationships with many friends and colleagues. Ron had a kind, compassionate heart and quick wit and he will be deeply missed by his family & friends.
He is survived by his parents, his sister Lisa Neafus & Heather Cottrill, and his companion Donald Morton.
