Mary Dolores Rodgers Halterman passed away October 17, the youngest of four children born to Samuel James Tilden Rodgers and Edna Evelyn Payne Rodgers on August 7, 1914 in Mounds, OK. She always spoke of her wonderful childhood, even though her father died suddenly when she was only nine years old.

She and her mother moved to Tulsa in 1933. She worked at the Tulsa Tribune and Midcontinent Oil Company while attending the University of Tulsa, majoring in music.
She joined Boston Avenue United Methodist Church, and there met John W. Halterman, Jr. They were married the Rose Chapel on April 17, 1938. She was very active at the church and was a Life Member in Women's Missionary Society. They were members of the Friendly Couples Class serving as President of the class. Mary played the piano while John led the singing.
Mary and John had two children and she was involved in their lives as Cub Scout Den Leader, Blue Bird Leader, choir mother and PTA officer. She was also in the General Study club and Chapter BA, PEO.
Her survivors include: son, Ken of Plano, TX., daughter and son-in-law Jonna and Gary Lewis of Tulsa, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and special nephew Jim Malone of Bartlesville.
Her lifestyle was an inspiration to all her friends and family. She was more than ready to rejoin her beloved John after ten years of living by herself.
