Obituary of Anita Rose "Curly" Kerr

Anita Rose (Ratterman) Kerr passed peacefully and began her new journey on October 31, 2014, in Tulsa, OK. She was known as “Curly” to her family. Anita was born on January 26, 1926 in Union City, OK. She grew up in El Reno, OK, where she married Kendall Kerr in 1947 and they settled in Tulsa, in 1949. Anita was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Henry and Catherine Isabelle (Downey) Ratterman, sisters, Edna O’Neal, Agnes Steinbruck, Monita Gambel, Genevieve Barber, and brothers George and Charles. She is survived by Kendall Kerr her husband of 67 years, also survived by a daughter, Carole Guy and husband Ken, sons, Roger Kerr, Ron Kerr and wife Susan and Douglas Kerr, grandchildren, Kevin Guy, Kelly Watts and husband Andrew, Jonathan Kerr, Michael Kerr and great granddaughters, Madison, Peyton and Hailey Watts all of Tulsa, and sisters-in-law, Maxine Ratterman of Carlinville, IL and Julia Ann Crump of El Reno, OK. Anita was a homemaker and Charter member of the Church of St. Mary where she was an enthusiastic volunteer for 50 years. She loved traveling, reading, gardening, painting, playing the piano, square dancing and making baby quilts for the Madonna House. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and mother-in-law. She will be missed by all who knew her. We would like to thank St. Francis Hospice for their exceptional care and support. Viewing will be held Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. til 3:00 p.m. at Ninde Brookside Funeral Home. Rosary service will be held on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in the Marion Chapel of Church of St. Mary. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m., at Church of St. Mary. In lieu of flowers the family asks that remembrances in Anita's name be made to the St. Francis Hospice, 6600 S. Yale Ave., Tulsa, OK 74136.
