Aaron Alfred "Al" Phillips was born on February 8, 1919 in Philadelphia, PA to Ethel May (Jones) and Aaron Alfred Phillips, Sr. He passed from this life on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the age of 93. The family moved to Tulsa, where Al attended Central High School. He married Doris Ann Ashton on June 29, 194 and they enjoyed 64 years together until her death in 2007. Al proudly served in the military during World War II as an Army Ranger. He worked for Amoco for 38 years until his retirement in 1974. Al was a member of First United Methodist Church, where he was the front door greeter for many years. Al and Doris Ann were faithful members of the Joynor Class. He also served on the Board at Methodist Manor for a number of years. Al was preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Linda Ann Phillips. He is survived by his three children, Karen Phillips Randall, Jerry Phillips (Beverly), and Jan Phillips; four grandchildren, David Randall, Scott Randall, Ryan Phillips and Jennifer Phillips Webb; and four great-grandchildren. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Sterling House for their wonderful care.
