Obituary of Dr. Kenneth R. Goljan, DDS, MS

Kenneth Robert Goljan was born March 16, 1937 in Chicago, IL to his mother and his father, Eugene Goljan and passed from this life January 7, 2015 in Tulsa, OK surrounded by his family at the age of 77. Kenneth graduated cum laude from Loyola University in Chicago’s School of Dentistry in 1962. He received his Master of Science in Oral Pathology in 1964. He was a Research Fellow of the National Institutes of Health in the Institute of Dental Research and is currently a member of the American Dental Association. Kenneth moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in the mid 70’s to open the dental school at ORU. He also maintained a private practice as well specializing in general dentistry, oral pathology, and cosmetic dentistry. Kenneth’s passion was his wife, Mary Lou and his grandchildren. He was a very involved grandfather and taught his grandchildren some of his hobbies such as how to perform magic, woodcarving, drawing, bonsai, and stained glass. He enjoyed sharing stories of many hunting expeditions. One of his favorite times was joining Indian Princess with his daughters, Sheryl and Leslie. Kenneth was preceded in death by his father and his son-in-law Gregory Gambrell. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Lou (Hansen) Goljan; his daughters, Sheryl Ann Gambrell and Leslie Ann Goljan-Weeks; and his grandchildren, Ashley, Matthew and Abigail. A Rosary Prayer Service will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday and a Memorial Mass will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, both at the Church of the Resurrection, 4804 S. Fulton Ave, Tulsa, OK.
