Nola Duffer Day, after a long life of 98 years, entered eternal rest on March 1, 2015.
Nola was born October 21, 1916 in Sweetwater, TX to Arthur Buford Bell and Sadie Williams Bell. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Ophelia Click and Pearl Sefeldt, as well as two granddaughters, Jodi Tanner and Elora Duffer and husbands, Alvin Duffer and Bill Day. Nola is survived by two sons, Louis Duffer and wife Gayle of Southern Pines, NC and Bob Duffer and wife Sharon of Tulsa, OK. She is also survived by many loving and well loved grandchildren, step children, step grand children and great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Nola was among the first residents of Disciples Village senior apartments where she lived for more than 30 years and was the last original tenant when she moved to Parks Edge Nursing Home. During her time at Disciples Village she loved cooking for Saturday morning breakfast gatherings of tenants, making ceramic figurines and other pieces, crocheting and plastic canvas embroidery items. She also sang in the choir for several years at Community Christian Church.
A memorial service for Nola is scheduled for March 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Community Christian Church, 8920 E. 31st Street, Tulsa, OK 74145, 918-664-9370. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested for Community Christian Church or the charity of your choice.
