Obituary of Billie Lee Stutsman

Billie Lee Stutsman was born May 7, 1933 in Sasakwa, OK to Roy Edgar and Maxine Virginia (Green) Pearson. She passed from this life Wednesday, November 16, 2001 in Tulsa at the age of 78. She married her high school sweetheart, Dick Stutsman in 1952 and soon their family included two children. As a successful working mother, Billie was also known as a "second mom" to many of her children's friends; always happy to set another place at her table. Billie and Dick were very involved in their children's activities and the Stutsmans were part of the founding families of Tulsa's junior hockey league in the '60s; Billie was a genuine "hockey mom." Billie retired after a long career with North American Rockwell to enjoy extensive travel around the world and active involvement in the Salvation Army and Tulsa Boys' Home. Billie was preceded in death by her parents and in 2005, her husband of more than 50 years, Richard R. "Dick" Stutsman. She is survived by her sister, Linda Curtis; daughter, Sandy Stutsman; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Nancy Stutsman; and 5 grandchildren, Ursa, Wilson, Eve, Richard and Pearson Stutsman. A graveside service will be held 12:30 pm Saturday at Memorial Park Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 1:00 pm in Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel.
