Obituary of Bob Wellman
Please share a memory of Bob to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robert Warren Wellman was born on September 3, 1954 in San Antonio, TX to William Charles Wellman and Doris Katherine (Dugan) Wellman. Bob passed from this life on Monday, September 28, 2015 at the age of 61 in McKinney, TX.
Bob is survived by his wife, Pamela, of McKinney, TX; sons, Robert Wellman, Jr., of Jenks, OK and Douglas Wellman and his wife, Jennifer, of Collinsville, OK; a granddaughter, Adalynn Wellman, of Collinsville, OK; and a brother, William C. “Bill” Wellman, Jr., of Westport, OK. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Bob graduated high school in 1972 from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, TX. He married the love of his life, Pamela Mathias, on May 20, 1974 in Sherman, TX. A devoted husband, he spent the remainder of his life doing what he loved the most- standing by her side- and she was still at his side as he took his final breaths. Bob thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family and loved ones and took enormous pride in the new title he received earlier this year- Grandpa.
The other great passion in Bob’s life was cheering (and cursing) the football team of his beloved Texas Longhorns. Whether celebrating the latest victory or wondering how they “snatched defeat from the jaws of victory” once again, he could always be found wearing burnt orange. He loved calling area sports radio stations to discuss the ‘Horns and was known by many as “Bevo”.
