Obituary of Lorraine M. Leapline

Lorraine Mary (Guenther) Leapline was born October 14, 1923 in Parker, SD to Frank & Mable (Stratton) Guenther, Jr. and transitioned to her home in heaven on October 13, 2015 from Lakin, KS at the age of 91.
Lorraine graduated from Chancellor High School in 1942. Upon graduation she entered Aberdeen College to prepare for School of Nursing at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. While there she met Charles H. Neal, Jr., an airman from Drumright, OK. They were married in McCook, NE in 1945. They had four children and worked together to operate a Western Auto Store in Ulysses, KS for twenty years. After divorcing Charles in 1972 Lorraine completed her training as a Licensed Practical Nurse and then married Wendell “Bink” Leapline in August of 1978. In addition to being very active in her church and Christian ministries, Lorraine and Bink poured themselves into the lives of all of their grandchildren.
Lorraine is survived by 2 sisters, 2 brothers and a number of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her three sons, Charles “Chuck” H. Neal, III of The Villages, FL, John Franklin Neal of Firestone, CO, and David Michael Neal of Lakin, KS; her daughter, Glenna Jean Dameron of Royal, VA; 9 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by 2 sisters, 1 brother, both of her husbands and her parents. She was loved by all that knew her and her family is very grateful for all the love and prayers she invested in them.
Lorraine will lie in state 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday with Pastor Norman Wilkie of Spirit Life Church officiating at Memorial Park Cemetery where she will be laid to rest.
