JAMES COLQUITT ANDERSON, JR
4/27/1919 - 10/26/2015
Born in Henderson, Texas, JC was the youngest son of James Sr & Pearl Tate Anderson. In 1939, JC married his one true love, Mary Nelwyn Youngblood. They were married for 56 years before Mary's death in 1995.
JC worked in the oil and gas industry buying Right of Way for Texas Pipeline and Texaco in South Louisiana. Later in his career with Texaco he moved to Houston and ultimately retired in Kerrville, TX and Sante Fe, NM. JC & Mary loved Texas, South Louisiana , San Miguel Allende, Mexico & Sante Fe. They were fortunate to travel and enjoy the culture, cuisine, people and art of all these places together for many years.
JC loved golf, playing the trumpet, dancing and listening to music, especially the big bands of 1940's. He loved his church and served as Deacon for many years in Presbyterian churches of Lafayette, La., Kerrville, TX, Sante Fe, NM.
He was preceded in death by his parents and Murray Anderson ( brother), Catherine Akard and Imogene Moore ( sisters).
He is survived by son Stephen Anderson (Cindy), daughter Susan Arnold(Jack), grandsons Scott Anderson, Benjamin Anderson, Trey Arnold ( Jayme), granddaughters Danielle Bush (Lance), Elise Bross (David), Kirsten Deagen (Daniel), Rachael Lichtenberger (Jared), Ashley Briggs( Conner). Great grandchildren Chayse, Landry Deagen, Wyatt, James Bross and Quaid Arnold. Nephew, Bill Mealer and neice, Melissa Mealer.
The family much appreciates the many years of kind and compassionate care from Dr. Steve Gawey and staff. Donato Carreno, Poony Morris and John Karjadi . Family also wishes to thank Tulsa Jewish Retirement Nursing Center and Miller Hospice for their kindness and care.
