Obituary of Rev. Alexander John Coriell

Please share a memory of Rev. Alexander to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Alexander John Coriell (32) September 29, 1983—November 10, 2015 Alexander John Coriell was born in Bellevue, WA; graduated from La Sierra High School and completed course work at Riverside Community College in Riverside, CA; and graduated from Victory Bible Institute in Tulsa, OK. An avid Seattle Seahawks fan, he also enjoyed Apple computers and Star Wars. He was gifted in song, theatre and art. At 18, Alexander accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and answered a call to ministry. At 20 years of age, he married his best friend, Marissa Sharpe, and they began Gospel ministry together. They served as youth ministers in California; and as missionaries with their three young sons. They founded a ministry to children at risk, Unbroken International, and started a children's home in the Philippines. Since 2009, Alexander and his family have lived in Tulsa, OK, where he served faithfully as a licensed minister at International Gospel Center, as a worship team member and Men's Bible Study group leader. Alexander was a talented graphic designer and video editor and founded Xanderjon, LLC, also using these skills to minister through his job at Osborn Ministries International. A loyal and supportive husband to his wife, whom he adored, he was proudest of his three young sons to whom he was a patient, loving father. Alexander was passionate about setting men free to accept the truth of biblical gender equality. He was a loyal friend and a servant-hearted leader. His greatest honor was traveling the world preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, ministering in 6 different nations during his 13 years in ministry. Exhibiting great courage and inner strength, he turned a diagnosis of ALS into an opportunity to inspire and encourage many to live life to the fullest. Keeping his eyes on Jesus, Alexander fought a good battle and won! Alexander is survived by his wife and best friend, Marissa; three sons, Jonathan (10), Josiah (9) and Azariah (6); his parents, Alan and Joanne Coriell; siblings, Melinda, Theodore, Sara, Nathaniel, Elyse, Daniel, Mariah, Anamarie, David, Emme and Cora; Grandmothers and Grandfathers Stevenson and Parker & Grandmother Sterett; 4 brothers-in-law and 2 sisters-in-law; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; his mother and father in law, Ray and Christine Sharpe; and a host of friends. Alexander will lie in state 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home and a memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the International Gospel Center, 555 S. Memorial Drive, Tulsa, OK. In lieu of flowers family asks that remembrances be made in Alexander's name to the gofundme.com/coriellfuneralfund
