Obituary of JoAnne Marie Rupnow
Please share a memory of JoAnne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
JoAnne Marie Rupnow was born on May 24, 1925 in Loyal, OK to George Garms and Marie (Wahling) Garms. JoAnne passed from this life on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the age of 90.
JoAnne grew up in Loyal and Norman, OK. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma, moved to Tulsa and began working at ONG. She then met and married William “Bill” Thomas and became the mother of two children.
JoAnne enjoyed many things: her family, church, socializing, playing bridge, snowskiing, jitterbug, traditional, and square dancing, quilt- and stained glass-making, travel to elderhostel events, gardening and birdwatching, travel to Guatemala, to Europe, and two cruises. Many of those things she shared with her husband Delmer Sullins while living in Sapulpa. She dearly appreciated her friends in the Tulsa area and at Green Tree Assisted Living.
She was preceded in death by husbands Delmer Sullins, and later, Francis “Mac” Rupnow. JoAnne is survived by her daughter, Denice Bohanan of Okarche, OK and a son, David Thomas of Tulsa; step-children, Donna West, Dennis Sullins, Debbie Coley, Kathy Hunter, Linda McGuire and Sallie Rupnow and 3 grandchildren, Carson and Conner West and Stephen Coley.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to those at Green Tree Assisted Living and to those from Rose Rock Hospice for their loving care of Mother.
