Obituary of Thelma V. Jordan

Please share a memory of Thelma to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Thelma V. (Hudson) “Lea” Jordan was born August 24, 1929 in Moberly, MO to Orvale & Vallie (Wolverton) Hudson and passed from this life on March 10, 2016 at the age of 86. Lea was happiest serving others and being a true friend. She baked hundreds of her famous strawberry cakes for others to enjoy. She loved playing Words with friends and Bingo at the V.F.W. Her prayers for others with her internet prayer circle of friends affected the lives of so many that she didn’t even know. Her family was her world and she loved and was so proud of each one of her children, grand children and great grand children. We will all miss her for a time until we are united again but it is comforting to know she is at peace and rest with family and friends. Her husband, Ray, enjoyed being with her and loved her so much and she loved him. They shared so many great memories together. They are true examples of how a husband and wife are to care for and love one another and their children. Her smile lit up the world in spite of her own personal trials. She put others first and always wanted to give of her time, talent and energy in service to others. Lea worked hard her whole life and loved making new friends. She was adored by so many and was a shining light that blessed our days with her. Most of all she loved Jesus and followed His example in loving others. Lea was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Marie Gaines. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Raymond Jordan; her children, Sandra Cisco and husband Dan, Deborah Kelly Rasulo and fiancé Cecil Hester, Richard Miller and wife Laurie, Kathy Cramer and husband Steve; her step-children, Judy East and husband Brian, Georgia Rae Pack and husband Kenny, and Lucky Jordan and wife Kathy; 15 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren. Lea will lie in state Thursday from 10-8 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Skiatook Free Will Baptist Church and she will be laid to rest at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
