Tom Scanlan with Serge Novovich at Marine Barracks, USNTC, Great Lakes, Ill. 1954. We taught electronics there together. Serge was a good friend and a fine Marine. Semper Fi.

I have thought about Serge many times over the many years since I last saw him. We both taught electronics at USNTC back in the early 1950's, shared a room with two other non-com Marines. Serge was the quietest in our foursome but seemed to have a better idea of where he was headed. He seems to have succeeded in all respects. He had a good life from all that I have read. I wish his surviving family the very best. Know that he was as fine Marine. There is a saying, once a Marine, always a Marine. Semper Fi, Serge, from your room mates at Marine Barracks, USNTC, Great Lakes, Ill. Sgt. Russ Pfeiffer, Corporal Charles Bibleheimer, and Corporal Tom Scanlan (me). FYI, Russ was killed in car accident while attending Purdue University. Charlie married his HS sweetheart. Tom returned to college, did some physics research, then taught college physics. Married, widowed, two daughters, four grandchildren. And fond memories of Serge and our years as young men starting out in life so many years ago. Rest in peace. Tom Scanlan

Serge helped me when most people turned away. He was a man you could rely upon for the truth. I will always remember his kindness.

I feel sad from the news of Serge's transition. His gentleness, understanding and silly sense of humor was enlightening, and much appreciated! He will be greatly missed. I pray that his family feel the comfort and the peace and the Love that Serge would only want for them. And also that they know Serge Novovich's beautiful and loving expressions of life will continue... always

I am truly sorry for your loss , I will miss him . Serge was the motivation to get me at my age up off the couch and back out on the dance floor. I will never match his ability to dance or talk, but I hope to stay mentally and physically strong as he was to the end.

So sorry for your loss. Serge and I liked to talk politics on the dance floor. Even though we didn't always agree, he had a way of showing me that his point of view made sense and made me feel mine did too. I'll miss those dance steps with this remarkably intelligent, fun man.

Serge and I shared sly attorney jokes both on and off the dance floor. He was a dear friend and dance partner with a smile and kind word. Rest in peace, Serge.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of working for Serge as manager of the Berkley Apts. for eight years. We shared many funny stories and learned a lot from each one. his kindness to others will be missed. He gave second chances more than anyone else would. We are really going to miss him. I pray for comfort for his family at this trying time.
