Obituary of Jane Gail Russell

Jane Gail Russell was born June 1, 1938 in Tulsa, OK to Willard T. & Dorothy Mae (Thompson) Russell. She passed from this life Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the age of 77. Jane attended the University of Arkansas and later went to work with the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, MA. Upon returning to Tulsa, she went to work for and later retired from the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. Jane had a heart for service and after retiring, she volunteered in many community service capacities. She attended the Sixth Church of Christ, Scientist and volunteered for the Christian Science Reading Room for many years. Likewise, she enjoyed painting, calligraphy, crafting and spending time with family during the holidays. Jane had a love for children, life and helping others. Jane was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Willard Turner Russell, Jr. She is survived by her sister, Peggy Colby of Indiana; 5 nieces, Lisa King, Kerri Adams, Julie Lovelace, April Russell and Keli Colby; her nephew, John Turner Russell, II; 9 great nieces and nephews; and 15 great grand nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday at Ninde Funeral Directors, Brookside Chapel. Flowers may be sent to Ninde Brookside at 3841 S.
