Obituary of Ted Woolman

Please share a memory of Ted to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
God blessed our family 18 years ago with a beloved son and brother. John Theodore "Teddy" Woolman was born June 30, 1994 to John and Karen Woolman at St. John Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He passed away unexpectedly on December 24, 2012. He attended Monte Cassino from preschool through fifth grade, followed by Cascia Hall Preparatory School where he was a senior. Teddy led a full and active life - A talented musician, he began playing piano at age five and later learned to play the drums and guitar. He was a fearless, charismatic performer and wrote many songs of his own from a young age. He attended the Janell Whitby School of Music and the Oklahoma Music Academy throughout his life. His musical tastes ranged from Metallica to Handel's "Messiah" and Bob Marley to Frank Sinatra. He enjoyed singing in the school chorus and took the lead role in Guys n' Dolls in the eighth grade. He was also cast in the upcoming spring production of Kiss Me Kate at the Cascia Hall PAC. Summers spent at Grand Lake with family and friends were the best times of his life - wake boarding, watching the spectacular Fourth of July fireworks and celebrating his birthday. Winters and Spring Breaks were spent snowboarding in Colorado. At the age of ten, Teddy joined a recreational basketball team at the Hutcherson YMCA, the "Die Hard," where his coach and teammates taught him sportsmanship and a true love for the game. He later participated in both football and basketball at Cascia Hall. Teddy valued all kinds of people - his smile and contagious laughter could lighten even the darkest rooms. His kindheartedness and sense of humor changed the lives of so many, and the world will not be the same without him. He is survived by his grandfather, Ted Woolman of Nowata; his parents, John and Karen; and three sisters, Mandy Woolman and her son, Max Burn, Erin Fore, Linden (Fore) Dossey and her husband, Drew, all of Tulsa. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in downtown Tulsa where a memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, December 29; a reception will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute in Teddy's memory to the Oklahoma Music Academy, 2908 E. 15 St, Tulsa, OK 74104; making music was Teddy's greatest passion.
