Obituary of Jason Christopher DeLong

Please share a memory of Jason to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jason Christopher DeLong was born January 10, 1966 in Cleveland, OK to Ron and Mary Lou DeLong. He grew up in Hominy, OK with his two older brothers, Greg and Darren. He graduated from Hominy High School in 1984 and continued his education at the University of Oklahoma, where he was a member of the Pride. He graduated in 1989. Jason and Jacquelyn Rapp were united in marriage on July 29, 1989 in Hominy and made their home in Tulsa. His career began at Moody’s Jewelry in 1991. Personable and driven, he found success quickly within the company. He was always a top salesman for Moody’s, and the top salesman for the last several years. Jason and Jacquelyn began their family in 1997 with the birth of their daughter, Anne. Then in 2001 their son Jason, Jr. better known as Butch was born. One of his greatest passions was music. His sense of humor and kind heart shone through whether he sang at the Tulsa Jazz Hall of Fame, wedding receptions, or company parties. Jason was also an avid hunter and fisherman. Some of his happiest moments took place at Grand Lake while entertaining his family. Whatever he did, he did it with determination and a sense of humor. Jason could find a way to connect with anyone. And was never afraid to break the ice, even if it meant laughing at himself. Jason was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lou, and his grandparents. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jacquelyn; his children, Anne and Butch; his brothers, Greg and Darren; and his father, Ron. Jason went to be with the Lord September 26, 2016 at the age of 50. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m in the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Church of St. Mary. In lieu of flowers the family suggest that donation in Jason’s name be made to either St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or the Little Light House, 5120 E. 36th St., Tulsa, OK 74135 Ninde Brookside – www.ninde.com
