Obituary of John D. Judd
Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
John D. Judd died November 10, 2016, from complications from heart surgery.
He was 73, born April 15, 1943. He grew up in Sapulpa and moved to Tulsa after graduating from the University Of Tulsa School Of Journalism. John served in the Air National Guard as a medical technician during the Viet Nam war, administering to wounded soldiers returning home for medical treatment. Since 1991 John pursued a career in residential real estate sales. For the past several years he has been associated with McGraw Realtors, where he was devoted to serving his clients and customers.
His friends knew John as a true gentleman in every sense of the word; he was wonderfully kind hearted, gentle, funny and sincere. He never had a bad word to say about anyone. John could be the life of the party. He was a funny guy with a keen sense of timing, but he also could be contemplative and introspective. He has and artistic nature, loved to doodle and draw and create his own cartoons. His often raised eyebrows and facial expressions could bring a smile to anyone’s face.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Mabel and Don Judd of Sapulpa, and by Blanche, his beloved yellow lab and inseparable companion. His survived by his brother Richard Judd, his four nieces, Dawn Judd, Signy Jugg, Jennifer Newens and Jessica Newens, his nephew, Jay Newens and his “sistas” Kit Wise, Sarah Jussen and Jan Stuart, as well as his many friends, too numerous to mention by name.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to honor Jon to the Wounded Warriors Project.
