They returned to Enid in 1975 and both retired in 1981.
In 1966 she became Executive Secretary of the Tri-State Music Festival. During her time with the Festival it saw great growth with participation levels exceeding 20,000 students. She retired from the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission in 1981 after 5 years of service. On retirement, Katherine and Bill moved to Osage, OK where they enjoyed living the lake life, boating, fishing and family and friends.
A dedicated Christian, she served in many capacities at several Christian Churches (Disciples of Christ) including Deacon, Elder, Church Board Chair, and many other offices.
