It is hard to explain the deep relationship between pet owners and their veterinarian.
Acorn Clinic's last week was a revolving door of loving clients coming in to express their thanks to a man who been a part of their lives for often 2 to 3 generations. I was so touched I even called The Tulsa World and told them the 'Marcus Welby ' of the pet world was retiring. The reporter came out and did a beautiful story. He called me afterwards to tell me 'they don't make them like that anymore'.... When we lost our first little dog, the Neers closed the clinic to attend the funeral. There was and will only ever be one Dr. William Neer. As dedicated as he was in his professional life, he was even more as a friend. Together he and Jeannine enriched the lives of all of us lucky enough to know them. We will miss his wit, intuitive nature, genius intellect, and most of all his genuine friendship. We are certain our pets do go to Heaven, and we are certain who has been placed in charge of their care until we are all together again.....
