Obituary of Jacquelyn Flick Bowlin
Jacquelyn Flick Bowlin, age 87 of Tulsa, OK died on October 8, 2017 in Tulsa, OK. A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Tulsa at 11th and Boulder on Friday, October 27 at 10:00 AM with Reverend Aaron Tiger officiating and Music Director Joseph Bias as soloist.
Jackie was born on May 31, 1930 in Stratford OK in her grandparent’s home. Her parents were Oscar Walker & Goldwyn Glynore Green. Although the man she knew and loved as Dad was her stepfather, Jessie Norris Flick, a baseball enthusiast as was Jackie. She graduated from Tulsa Will Rogers High School in 1948. She married Gene Bowlin and together they had two children. Before establishing a career as a mortgage loan officer she was a dedicated homemaker and mother.
She enjoyed volunteer work with children, travel, books, movies, music and dancing She loved dancing in the Red Glove Revue and tap dancing with the Step Sisters; but most of all she loved her family. She joined University United Methodist Church while in high school and formed many lasting friendships there. More recently she attended First United Methodist Church of Tulsa. Jackie is survived by her daughter Vicki, her son Ron and his wife Kim, four grandchildren: Jay Bowlin and wife Elizabeth, Kennith Bowlin and wife Kerry, John Bowlin and wife Jackye, Alicia Schrader and husband Brent. She has six great-grandchildren. Jackie is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Charles Mickey Flick and her sister Betty Jo Moss.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Music Department of First United Methodist Church or the Humane Society of Tulsa. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at St. Simeon’s Retirement Community for their dedicated and caring support while Jackie was a resident.
