Obituary of Betty Lou Fisher
Betty Lou Fisher was born December 16, 1926 in Tulsa, OK to Ocal Carson & Lillie Mae (Fortner) Angelo and passed from this life on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the age of 91.
Betty graduated in 1943 from William C. Bagley High School in Tahlequah, OK. She got her Department of Education Public School Teacher Certificate (War Emergency) on August 24, 1944. She taught at Lucky Elementary School in Peggs, OK. Afterwards she went to work for McDonnell Douglas where she left to become a homemaker. After raising her family she was a caregiver for DHS from the late 1980’s to early 1990’s.
Betty married Curtis Vernon Fisher, Sr. on July 19, 1945 in Tulsa, OK where they made their home. In 1972 the family moved to Kansas, OK where they opened Fishers Café & Texaco Gas Station. In 1978 they moved back to Tulsa where she was a homemaker to her family. Betty enjoyed being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to work in her flower garden, crochet, sew, paint, read books and being with her cats. She had an enormous collection of tea pots.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, the love of her life, on June 19, 1980; her son, Clarence Ray Fisher on February 16, 2015; her sister, Maxine James; and Aunt Ruby Brundedge. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary & Steve Woods; her son and daughter-in-law, Curtis & Pam Fisher; her grandchildren, Tammy Bagby and husband Bob, Jennifer Collins and husband Trent, Elizabeth Flake and husband Travis, Jeremy Fisher and wife Winifred and Steven Fisher; 10 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 4, 2018 at the New Home Cemetery in Peggs, OK officiated by Pastor Chuck Burton.
