The Meyers are very saddened to hear of Elaine's passing. The Hodges were our neighbors in Tulsa for many memorable years. Her children grew up with us; Nelson and I playing Army with our dad's WWII army gear from one end of the neighborhood to the other. Stacey, Nelson and I were the same age and went to elementary and Edison Jr and Sr High school together. Elaine treated the three of us as family and Stacey often referred to Elaine as her second mom. Elaine and Mom were best friends and played mahjong weekly with their friends. In retirement, she and Paul played, laked, and regularly traveled together with mom and dad until Paul died and Elaine moved to Arlington to live with Nelson. After leaving Tulsa, Dad, Mike, Stacey and I continued to stay in touch, driving to Arlington where we were happy to attend Elaine's 90th Birthday. Dad had turned 90 a week earlier and seeing Nelson and Brian was akin to a small family reunion. Mom and Elaine traded the same birthday card back and forth for thirty five years, and imagine my smile when Elaine mailed me the card one last time for safe keeping and to remind us of all the good times we shared together...Steve.
