Obituary of Dorothy Jean Hinckley

Dorothy Jean Hinckley was born on November 9, 1924 in Lone Wolf, OK to Walter and Reba (Holdridge) Kelly.  Jean passed from this life in Oklahoma City on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the age of 93.

Jean attended Will Rogers High School in Tulsa and received her BA degree in Education from Tulsa University.  She taught school for 12 years but spent a lifetime of Christian service.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Walter Kelly and a sister Norma Lea Kelly.  She was a loving wife to her late husband, Dr. De L. Hinckley, Jr., a United Methodist minister for 40 years; loving mother to her children, Deede (Dr. Richard) Cauley of Big Spring, TX, David (Lyn) Hinckley of Moore, OK, Jim (Susan) Hinckley of Tuttle, OK and Debbie (Mark) Dillard of Murphy, TX; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of her life will be held at 11 AM Friday at Epworth Villa, 14901 N. Pennsylvania, Oklahoma City, OK.  The graveside service will be held 10AM Saturday Memorial Park Cemetery (Tulsa) followed by a memorial service at 11AM Saturday at Asbury United Methodist Church Mason Chapel.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Oklahoma City University, Attention, Dept. of Advancement “De and Jean Hinckley Scholarship Fund”, 2501 N. Blackwelder, Oklahoma City, OK 73106.
