Obituary of Glenda Mae Pinnell
Glenda Mae Pinnell was born March 8, 1928 in Mill Springs, Missouri to Arthur Lee and Lucy Arena (Moss) Smith. She passed from this life Sunday, March 18, 2018 at the age of 90. Glenda was a Christian, civil servant and loving matriarch. She knew how to keep a promise. This week she will return to that cemetery as she did every year for her final time. She will be laid to rest next to her husband of 50 years “Together in Paradise”.
The church was a pillar of Glenda’s life. She was a 50-year member and deaconess of National Avenue Christian Church in Springfield and a “Prayer Card Minister” as a member of First United Methodist of Tulsa.
Glenda worked many years in Springfield’s Greene County Court House where she made many lifelong friends. She was an active member of Greene County’s Republican Women’s Organization and enjoyed meeting politicians campaigning through Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband Claud “Salty” Pinnell; three of her four brothers; and her three sisters. She is survived by her brother, Avery Smith and his wife, Joy of the St. Louis, MO area; her two sons and daughters-in- law, Phil and Debbie Pinnell and David and Ann Pinnell; her 5 grandchildren, Matt Pinnell and his wife, Lisa, John Pinnell, Laura Knapp and her husband, Jeremy, Mary Beth Pinnell and her husband, Will Seilheimer, Anna Bagley and her husband, Isaac.
