Obituary of Peggy Jo Candreia

Peggy Jo Candreia was born August 23, 1944 in Pawhuska, OK to Joseph & Wilma (Brook) Candreia and passed from this life on March 30, 2018 at the age of 73.

Peggy Jo held many positions in her lifetime ranging from records management at Children’s Medical Center to an instructor at Career Point College to record management for Oklahoma Center for Arthritis Therapy & Research to credit card processing management for Shell Oil Company.  Her analytical mind and highly organized work ethic combined to make a valuable asset to each of these companies.  In addition to her work life Peggy Jo enjoyed woodworking and gardening.

Peggy Jo was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Barry L. Candreia.  She is survived by her domestic partner of almost 29 years, Betty Vanaltenburg; and her extended family and friends. 

Peggy will lie in state Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home.  Interment will be at Rose Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum.  Celebration of Life Saturday, April 7, 1-4 p.m. at the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center, 621 E. 4th Street, Tulsa, OK 74120.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in Peggy Jo’s memory to the Shriner’s Transportation Fund, 2808 S Sheridan Rd, Tulsa, OK 74129.
