Obituary of Gayle Fetterhoff
Jacquita Gayle (Leadford) Fetterhoff was born September 29, 1942 in Lafayette, OK to Lois Leadford and Orene (Honeycutt) Leadford and passed this life on June 17, 2018 at the age of 75.
Gayle went to school in a one room school house near Stigler, Oklahoma. She, her sister, Jean and parents picked cotton as well as raised cattle. Gayle graduated Magna Cum Laude from Langston University with a BS in Education. Gayle was a financial analyst for Dunn & Bradstreet for many years. She retired from D&B and worked for CFS and enjoyed many trips across the United States as a reward for her many accomplishments in her work.
She loved animals and animals were drawn to her. Her precious cat, Charlie, lived to be over 22years old. She had many dogs over the years - having some for the house, some for the yard and some for the ranch. If she was sitting down, you could bet Liza was in her lap and Dolly was at her feet. She enjoyed ranching on her Rogales Ranch in Henryetta, Oklahoma. Family was her biggest love. She and her husband, Roger, spent their retirement days together going to flea markets, cattle sales and car shopping. If you saw one, the other was very nearby. She loved her "bonus" children dearly and was greatly loved by her grandchildren and great granddaughter. She had a great love for her sister, Jean and her three girls, Julie, Nora, and Sheila. Gayle fought cancer like a boss after promising her dearly loved dad that she would fight hard if cancer "ever jumped on her." She never stopped fighting.
Gayle is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Ronald Fetterhoff; her son-in-law Ken Patterson; and her daughter-in-law, Virginia Fetterhoff. She is survived by her husband, Roger B. Fetterhoff; her son and daughter-in-law, Rodney & Mary Fetterhoff; her daughter, Saundra Patterson; her son, Joseph Fetterhoff; her sister, Jean Fowler; her grandchildren, Josh, Devin, Roger Lee, Madeline & Darla; and her great granddaughter, Kaylynn.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to either the American Cancer Society, 4110 S 100th E Ave, Tulsa, OK 74146 or St. Jude’s at www.stjude.org
A graveside service will be held 11:00 p.m. Thursday, June 21, at Rest Haven Cemetery, Sperry, OK.
