Karen Luann Elkin was born November 29, 1966 in Houston, TX to William David & Margaret Kathleen (Haxton) Elkin and passed from this life August 15, 2018 at the age of 51.

Karen had a simple life in a way, much different than the normal day to day responsibilities of paying bills, making life decisions, handing a problem etc. Yet, she was a warrior in her own right. She fought many a battle in her life and always came out the survivor.

After a time of residence at Hissom Memorial Center, Karen found her forever home with fellow house mates Linda and Cecilia. She and the ladies thrived in a home filled with much love and compassion. She was blessed with wonderful care givers that made her life very fulfilled and complete for over twenty years.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Steven Roy Clements Sr, grandmother Geneva Jones.  She is survived by her aunt, Frankie Keith, sister in law, Kenni Su Clements, nephew Steven Roy Clements Jr., great niece Kiera Clements, cousins, DeAnna, Nancy, David, Kelly, Nathan, Michael and her extended family, Linda, Cecilia, Roberta, Malinda.

Karen will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 19 at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home, 3841 S. Peoria.  A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 20 at Memorial Park Cemetery.
